Tuesday,12 Jun 2012 Midas Resources Highlights: Program of RC drilling underway at Midas' Leonora Gold ProjectRC drill holes to test gold targets at the Dingo Well prospect in the Cazador JV tenements.Program of augur drilling and soil geochemistry underway on other tenementsResources developer, Midas Resources Limited ("Midas" or "the Company") (ASX: MDS), is pleased to provide an update on drilling and other exploration activity on its Leonora tenements (figs 1 & 2).RC DrillingA program of RC drilling has commenced on a gold target in the Cazador JV tenement E40/284. Midas is earning a 75% interest in the Cazador tenements. Drilling is being carried out to test for primary gold mineralisation in the Dingo Well Shear Zone (fig 3) below previous drilling that intersected strongly anomalous gold values in the supergene zone. As the earlier drilling intersected quartz vein material associated with the gold mineralisation there is potential for primary gold mineralisation at depth. The program will involve a limited initial drill test of the target with two RC holes. Further drilling will depend on results.Augur Geochemistry and Soil SamplingPrograms of soil augur geochemistry are being carried out over selected targets in the Midas and Cazador tenements (fig 3) with a focus on targets related to the Dahlia Shear Zone. A decision to carry out more extensive surveys will depend on results.Soil sampling is being carried out over a gold target at George Bore in Midas tenement E40/294.The George Bore target is an area of historical soil geochemical sampling that produced a gold in soil anaomaly but sample spacing was too broad to make any conclusions about target size or orientation of the target structure. RC drilling can be planned based on the results of the Midas survey.About MidasMidas is a West Australian based exploration and development company with an advanced gold project at Lake Carey, south of Laverton, where the Company is evaluating a number of potential development options for its Fortitude Gold Resource including heap leach and toll treatment. In the Leonora area the Company has a significant tenement holding which includes a number of gold prospects and former mines. The Company is exploring the key structures that are believed to control gold mineralisation in the area and it has an aggressive program of augur drilling and RC drilling on various prospects in the current Quarter. In the Paterson Province Midas has three exploration Licences granted and the Company has already completed an initial helicopter VTEM geophysical survey over a key target. Diamond drilling programs are being planned to test this and other targets throughout 2012. The grant of another tenement is expected in the September Quarter. For and on behalf of the Board of Midas Resources Limited,G D Balfe Managing Director/CEOCompetent Person:The information in this report is based on information compiled by Mr Geoff Balfe, who is a Member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a full time employee of the Company.
